Quote of the Day!

Some inspiration!

If it sounds like writing, I rewrite it.
—Elmore Leonard

Tip of the Day!

Tip of the Day!

Every Scene needs a goal!

Simple as that. This prevents the story from being BORING! A boring story won't sell.

If every scene has a goal then there will be movement and actions that keep our attention throughout the story!

Next time you’re watching a movie and you start feeling bored, ask yourself “What’s the character’s goal right now?” If you don’t know it’s probably because there simply isn’t one. Movies are boring when characters lack goals. This means that every single scene in your screenplay should be driving towards something.

Have fun with the goals!

Have a good day!

Tip of the Day!

Tip of the day!

KNOW YOUR STORY!

In other words have a strong outline of your story. This will help you to stay on track and know exactly what is going to happen in each scene. Knowing your ending is key too, by knowing the ending before you start writing you'll know exactly where to write towards!

Outline!

Some writers have outlines that are 100 pages or more and spend months on the outline as well.

If you have a strong outline, you'll have a strong story.

Have a good day!

Feedback is key!

Tip of the Day

Tip of the Day!

Write what you know!

You're more likely to write something good and worth reading if you know what you're talking about. You know what type of writer you are and you know your own strengths, so use them to your advantage.

If you’re not sure what your strengths are ask somebody you trust to read your work and have them tell you what they think is strong in your writing. The sooner you figure it out, the sooner you’ll write something that feels amazing!

Most screenwriters have some type of personal connection to their work and have had similar experiences as the ones in their writing.

So, just think long and hard about what you know and the experiences you have had.

Have a wonderful day!

Tip of the Day!

Hey it's time for the tip of the day!

Write every single day!

Simple enough, if you write everyday you'll get better and more at ease with writing.

It's all about discipline! It can be hard to write everyday but as long as you write something down it will help you in the long run.

I simply write down ideas for future scripts if I can think of anything else.

Have input on this tip, comment below.

Thanks!
